Throughout August, Calvary’s leadership has been walking this same journey of prayer and fasting, asking God to align our hearts before we invite the entire church to seek Him together.
Now, as a unified church body, we are setting aside 30 days in September to seek God together through prayer and fasting. God is bringing people to Calvary, and our current Sunday gathering is increasingly stretching our campus's practical capacity.
As we consider how to faithfully make room for the people God is entrusting to us, one direction we are prayerfully considering is two Sunday morning worship services beginning in the new year.
We have sought wise counsel and are carefully preparing, but consideration is not confirmation. We are not entering these 30 days asking God to bless a decision we have already made. We are asking Him to confirm it, correct it, or redirect it.
Our focus will build throughout the month in a simple progression: return to God, surrender to God, hear from God, and move with God.

FULL PLAN AT THE BOTTOM
Week 1 (Sept 1–7) // Return & Reorder
Fast: Sugar
No desserts, candy, soda, or added sugar.
The first week focuses on repentance and priorities. Before asking God what comes next, we want to make sure our hearts are right with Him. Through prayer and fasting, we are asking God to search us, cleanse us, restore our hunger for His presence, and reorder anything in our lives that has taken priority over Him.
Week 2 (Sept 8–14) // Surrender & Alignment
Fast: Caffeine
No coffee, energy drinks, caffeinated tea, or other added caffeine.
The second week moves from cleansing to complete surrender. We will intentionally lay down our preferences, comfort, plans, and expectations, asking God to bring us individually and collectively into alignment with His will. Our prayer is simple: “Not my will, but thine, be done.”
Week 3 (Sept 15–21) // Wisdom & Discernment
Fast: One Meal Each Day
No coffee, energy drinks, caffeinated tea, or other added caffeine.
The third week focuses on hearing clearly from God. We know God is moving, but growth brings responsibility. We are asking for godly wisdom, spiritual discernment, and sensitivity to His voice as we seek direction concerning the opportunities and decisions ahead of us.
Week 4 (Sept 22–28) // Stewarding the Harvest
Fast: Two Church-Wide 24-Hour Fasts, Wednesday (23rd) and Saturday (26th)
Church-wide full fasts, or modified fasts where medically necessary.
The final full week turns our attention toward faithfully stewarding what God is sending. We are asking Him to make us trustworthy with the people He has already entrusted to us. We will pray for laborers, unity, capacity, courage to make room, and faith to follow wherever God leads.
Final Days (Sept 29–30) // Ready to Move
Fast: Sugar, Caffeine, and One Meal A Day
For our final two days, we will combine all three fasts: no sugar, no caffeine, and one meal each day, as one final act of complete consecration and surrender to God.
We will finish the month by placing everything back into God's hands. After a month of repentance, surrender, discernment, and preparation, our final prayer will be one of obedience:
“Lord, wherever You lead, we are ready to follow.”
“Return to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.”
